With the Canadian Petrochemical Summit only weeks away, we are excited to host you in the heart of the Rockies. You have registered for our guided hike taking place on June 11.

About the Hike

The hike is an intimate experience for guests to experience the sights of the Rockies and learn about the unique qualities of this world-renown destination.

Itinerary

  • • 9:30 AM: Shuttle departs from main entrance of Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge. Please wait near the signage
    • 12:00 PM: Lunch
    • 3:00 PM: Shuttle will return to the same location as pick up

Summit Welcome Reception  
Following the hike, please join our Welcome Reception from 6-9 PM in the Mount Kidd Ballroom and Courtyard at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge.

Important Hike Information

Weather Conditions

Please dress for the weather conditions. The average temperature is about 13 degrees and June has the highest probability of rain in the region. If there are severe weather conditions, you will receive an email to the address you registered with 45 minutes prior to departure. No refunds will be administered due to extreme weather. 

What to bring

As stated previously, this hike is rated as easy. Here are some suggestions for items you may want to bring with you: 

Black Prince Cirque Interpretive

Join us on the scenic Black Prince Cirque trail! This incredible hike takes you deep into the majestic bowl of the Black Prince Mountain, offering stunning views at every step. You’ll start the hike on a charming old logging road before gradually climbing through both forested and open areas, where the refreshing mountain breeze will awaken your senses. A delicious gourmet picnic-style lunch will be served midway through the hike. Please ensure you bring comfortable, closed-toed walking footwear.

This is a 4 km hike with 159 meters of elevation gain.

Coal Mine Hike

Embark on a breathtaking journey with one of our certified guides to Kananaskis’ reclaimed coal mine. The adventure begins with a hike to the mine scar, where nature has triumphed over industry, transforming the landscape into a testament of environmental resilience. As you ascend the trails, the crisp mountain air invigorates your senses, and the panoramic views unveil the captivating beauty of the region. Enjoy a delectable gourmet lunch served during the middle of the hike. Be prepared with comfortable, closed-toed walking shoes.

This is a 5 km hike, with 250 m of elevation gain.
